Richard Wazana

Richard Wazana is a refugee and immigration lawyer practicing in Toronto. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2005 and articled at Green & Spiegel LLP. He was called to the Bar in 2006 and has practiced on his own ever since.

A former social worker and child care worker, Richard specializes Federal Court work (judicial reviews and stay motions) and appellate work at the Refugee Appeal Division. With a large clientele of undocumented persons, Richard also handles humanitarian and compassionate applications, sponsorships and appeals, as well as admissibility matters. He practices in French and English.

Richard is a member of the Refugee Lawyers Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario. He is the Chair of the Board of the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture and sits on liaison committees with Legal Aid Ontario and the Federal Court of Canada.


Aishah Nofal

Aishah Nofal graduated with a B.C.L. / LL.B. from McGill University before moving back to Toronto to pursue a career in immigration and refugee law. Previously, she worked with legal clinics in Montreal and on the International Refugee Assistance Project.

Aishah articled at WazanaLaw and joined as an associate in 2017. She regularly represents clients before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board as well as the Federal Court of Canada. She is a member of the Refugee Lawyer’s Association, the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, and on the Board of Directors for OFA, an organization dedicated to supporting socially and economically disadvantaged women.

Aishah speaks English, French, and Arabic.


Rajvi Chatwani

Rajvi Chatwani is an internationally trained lawyer and Paralegal graduate with experience working in corporate and immigration law. She has a Bachelor of Law from Jintendra Chauhan College of Law, Mumbai University, a Bachelor of Commerce from Mithibai College, Mumbai University, and a Paralegal post-graduation diploma from Centennial College.

Rajvi joined WazanaLaw as a law clerk in December 2021.
