Richard Wazana

Richard Wazana is a refugee and immigration lawyer practicing in Toronto. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2005 and articled at Green & Spiegel LLP. He was called to the Bar in 2006 and has practiced on his own ever since.

A former social worker and child care worker, Richard specializes Federal Court work (judicial reviews and stay motions) and appellate work at the Refugee Appeal Division. With a large clientele of undocumented persons, Richard also handles humanitarian and compassionate applications, sponsorships and appeals, as well as admissibility matters. He practices in French and English.

Richard is a member of the Refugee Lawyers Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario. He is the Chair of the Board of the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture and sits on liaison committees with Legal Aid Ontario and the Federal Court of Canada.
